I started turning my poems into songs and dusted of my old acoustic guitar. I think they sound okay, but when I try to record them onto a computer there is so much static and unwanted noise. A mic is needed. But which one? Acoustic guitar with vocals is what I am trying to record.
Any musos out there who could over a few tips on what to get?
I’ve only recorded vocals with my mics but I wish you luck. We did one song with an a.t. 2020 with acoustic with cockatoo that turned out well but none other than that.

Hello, It depends how much work you want to put into it.
If you want a good USB recording device that you can plug an instrument or microphone into, I have one of these: https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB
If you want to keep it as simple as possible, I also have one of these: https://www.zoom-na.com/products/field-video-recording/field-recording/zoom-h1-handy-recorder
Both are reasonably inexpensive.
Cheers
